Any thoughts on LMS administrator rights to view published courses?
Dec 29, 2015
Good morning, all.
This is not completely specific to Storyline, but I'm curious if this is common or not. We're getting ready to roll out a group of courses on January 4 for a new online "university." Once I established course prerequisites, I no longer have access to the second-level courses because I haven't met all the prereqs. So I either have to manually remove the prereqs so I can test my published Storyline files in the LMS, or - as they recommended - I have to take all the prereqs so I can enroll in the second-level courses. I'm glad they aren't chemistry courses.
Does anyone have a similar experience, or can you as an admin enroll and test everything that you've published and uploaded to your LMS?
Thank you for any thoughts. I appreciate it!

Hi Cheryl,
It sounds like a question for your LMS team if there is an Admin option. You may also want to look at testing it in SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.
Thanks very much, Ashley. I do have the highest admin rights, but this seems like a strange limitation. I was just curious to see how other LMS admins experience this. Thanks for the tip to testing in SCORM Cloud.
I am not an LMS expert by any means - so I can't speak to the specifics there, but it sounds like the "gating" applies across the board and not just to users? Testing at SCORM Cloud would at least allow you to run through it without the gating set up.
Absolutely. I appreciate your thoughts!
