I've created some slides, for example using simulation. Can I apply a template to those slides, not just a simple theme change, my template actually write some triggers and other information that I need onto the simulation slides.
Any suggestion or direction is greatly appreciated, thanks,
Are the templates you need located in the Slide Master? If so, right-click anywhere in the slide workspace, scroll to Layout, and click the layout you want to use.
Getting back into this... I’ve got a storyline template created that allows me to define a slide with objects, triggers, etc. when I create a new slide. Can I somehow apply the template slide settings onto an existing slide? Say a slide from a simulation? These are TEMPLATE slides, not SLIDE MASTERS
The best workflow would be to implement the template prior to the content. You can check out our full tutorial here.
I agree with Alyssa, you may want to consider adding your template slide as a master slide if you'd like to apply to existing content. Otherwise, you could add your template slide, then copy/paste the information over that you'd like on the slide and delete the original slide.
I understand the benefit to prior application. My question centers more on applying a large number of triggers and slide layers... is there any way to apply those things to an existing slide?
It might be easier to import the template, create a new slide based on it, then copy the stuff on the old slide and copy to the new slide. Try that, and let us know how it works.
let me go at this another way... I have triggers, slide layers and objects I want on my simulation slides. Is there a quick way to accomplish that? I can't copy all those objects to a new slide.
Hi Richard! If you copy objects from another slide, their associated triggers will travel with them. Be sure that those triggers are still performing the action you want, though, especially when it comes to navigation.
As far as slide layers, can you copy the content of the original slide layer and paste it into the new simulation slide layer that you're creating? Or, if you need to have a similar setup for many of these slides, you might want to copy these objects once to a slide master layout and apply that layout to all the relevant slides.

Just some thoughts -- I hope it helps!
