Applying Document Info to slides via Variables

We are trying to create a variable which we can apply to a slide mater which auto-populates the slide name and/or number.
This could then be used to:
- auto apply subtitles to slides,
- quickly identify slides for both compliance and improvement opportunities.
Our intent is to be able to minimise the amount of manual data entry required by the dev team as much as possible.
An example of exactly what we are trying to achieve would be applying merge fields similar to those available in a Microsoft word doc. e.g. Page numbers, File Path, Author etc
Does anyone have experience with this, or have any idea how we might go about reducing manual updates of the same without impacting existing content revisions.

Hi Kelly!
We've seen lots of requests for automatic slide numbering, so that's a feature we're looking into for a future update! For now, there isn't a way to automatically add the slide number or title to a slide, so I'll leave it to the community to share their experience and ideas with you.
Hi Kelly!
Great news! Storyline 360 now has slide numbers! 🌟

Thank you Ashley, I have just finished reading the feature release email.
I won't lie - I was a little toooooo excited to see that feature noted, my team genuinely thought I'd won the lottery :D
Kelly,
I know you're not alone in that enthusiasm! I'm glad our team was able to implement this feature to help you and others build the course you need.
