Applying Tiggers to multiple text boxes

Jan 07, 2014

I have a interesting situation:

I need to have multiple text boxes in the story, sequentially throughout the timeline.  I need these to be visible based off a button.  The problem with layering the text boxes on to the file is that the timeline for the layer starts once the layer has been applied, and does not keep the same pace as the baselayer timeline.  I need the timeline of these text boxes to be the same as the baselayer timeline and for the user to be able to chose if they wish to view the text boxes.  Is there a method allowing the user to choose if they see the textboxes or not without having to individually trigger each text box?

Thanks!

Hi Quinn and welcome to Heroes!

When setting up your layers you can choose how those will behave with your base layer - not seeing if there is anything else set up on your slide, you may want to pause the timeline of the base layer:

If you don't want to use layers and triggers to show the text boxes, you could also set them up on the base layer to appear at a particular time based on where they start in the timeline, so it may look like this:
