Hi Everyone,
I am working on an elearning project that requires the input of arabic and i have been facing some problems with the proper display with the arabic accents in story line. I was wondering if any of you has ever faced such problem. Such issue occures with most of the elearning softwares that i am evaluating. I really like storyline and would love to purchase a copy to work on my project should there be a shortcut to such problem.
The only elearning software which does not present such issue is Adobe Captivate.
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi lyes lou and Welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Are you utilizing a Unicode font, such as Arial Unicode MS? Here is an article about the supported languages in Storyline. After troubleshooting, if you are still having issues, please submit a support case so that we can better understand your issue and see your file. Thanks so much and have a great day!
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for your feedback.
The issue is not with the font because it gets displayed properly. The problem with the arabic language is when you start using the accents. Some of the letters in arabic, mainy the taller ones like the A and the L take all the space in the input box and do not give room to the accent, which usually sits on top of the letter.
I also have a problem selecting the text using the mouse to make corrections or to hange the font size.
Thanks
Hi Leslie,
I have tested most of the fonts and the only one which seems to display the accents properly is adobe arabic.
Thanks

Hi lyes lou! Thanks for the update. Is that not a font that you are interested in using? Are you seeing any issues upon publishing or are you previewing content? Be sure that you are testing your content in the environment that it is intended for as explained here,
Hi Leslie,
I can manage with the font but i was just hoping for a wider variety of fonts. I have also tested the content on a DVD as well as online and same result..
The other problem is the display of the arabic text on the slide title. The text is displayed as inverted when the file is published.
It is like writing inserting ( good morning ) and it gets displayed as ( gninrom doog )
Thanks
Interesting. Enabling your player for right-to-left language doesn't help either? There is another forum post here with solutions for right-to-left languages as well.
hehehehe... i kinda guessed it too and tried typing the text backwards to see if it displays properly. I does but it is a tedious task to copy and paste all the work.
Thanks
