Arabic SRT issues

Aug 06, 2019

I have imported the Arabic SRT in the Storyline caption and they are well displayed except by the instances where there are Arabic and western characters mixed, the SRT get corrupted and disordered.

Is there any way to solve this issue?

Hello, Ana!

Welcome to the community, and I'm so sorry you've come across this. We're investigating a few reports where right-to-left text might not appear correctly in the Closed Captions Editor.

For now, we have these workarounds:

  1. Copying right-to-left text from another document and pasting it into the Closed Captions Editor seems to be more consistent than typing directly into the editor.
  2. Another option is to open the Closed Captions Editor and let it auto-generate caption placeholders that are synced with your content, then click Export Captionson the ribbon. Open the exported file in a text editor, such as Notepad, and type your captions below each timestamp. Save and close the file, then import it back into the Closed Captions Editor.

You also mentioned that the .SRT file becomes corrupt, and that worries me. Would you mind sharing that caption file with our Support team by using this private upload link? We'll let you know what we find, and will delete it after troubleshooting.
