Are Updates automatic?

Aug 19, 2014

When I launch Storyline and click "Check for Updates" under "Help" I receive a message that no updates are available, but I see lots of talk about updates in forums, etc. Does this mean that my updates are being downloaded automatically?

Hi Mary,

You would likely have been prompted if you wanted to download the update - and we're currently on Update 6 of Storyline. You can see what fixes were included in each update detailed here. To see if there are updates available you'd need to be connected to the internet. You can confirm what update you're using by going to the help tab and clicking on About Articulate Storyline - a pop up window such as below will appear.

Hi Zaccky,

No silly questions! :-)

Yup - if you've got update 8, you have all the fixes that came previously as well. If there is something that you're struggling with that you see documentation of being fixed before, please let us know either here in the forums or by submitting a support case and our team will take a look.

Hi Joy,

It looks mostly like Ts and Fs? If so, it was reported to our team specifically for Storyline 3 and 360 to see if there are any settings we can look at modifying, but since it's a browser and user specific setting I'd still recommend using either of the settings:

  • Enable "Font download" option in Internet Explorer when viewing HTML5 output.
  • Add your website to the “Trusted Sites” in Internet Explorer. Go to Internet options > Security tab > Trusted sites.
