I am occassionally being prompted to log in to access storyline 360 from my desktop. I need to work off line frequently (a very long work commute) and this is proving immensely frustrating. My understanding was that storyline was always able to be accessed from the desktop and did not require internet connectivity - at least that used to be the case.
Articulate 360 needs to have a connection with Articulate servers I think every 100 days to ensure you have a subscription. Storyline is an off-line app but will stop working if the connection is not made.
That's a great question, and I'm glad Phil pointed you in the right direction.
To add more context:
Articulate 360 relies heavily on internet connectivity. That being said, you can use Storyline 360, Studio 360, Replay 360, and Peek 360 offline.
Initially, you must be online to sign into the Articulate 360 desktop app, which lets you install and use the desktop-authoring apps—Storyline, Studio, Replay, and Peek 360. Thereafter, you can use them offline up to 99 days at a time (or 60 days for free trials).
If you're offline longer than 99 consecutive days, the apps will stop working. To re-enable them, simply connect to the internet and sign into Articulate 360.
As long as you're online, you can use the desktop-authoring apps without interruption. If you go offline (for example, when you're traveling/commuting), the 99-day clock begins, allowing you to use them offline. The 99-day clock resets each time you connect to the internet and sign into Articulate 360.
Rise 360, Review 360, Content Library 360, and Articulate 360 Training require an active internet connection.
