I have an object on screen that moves up, down, left, right by the use of motion paths and the keyboard arrow keys. When I start the course though, the object will not move until I physically click on the object. Then the arrow keys will start to work. I have seen other Storyline examples online where the arrows move an object right away when starting the course.
Thanks for sharing the two files here with us. I took a look at published them both and uploaded to Tempshare (SL2 version and SL3 version). Based on comparing the Flash and HTML5 output, I see the behavior you're referring to in terms of the slide needing to have focus first in SL3 to move the image using the arrow keys. I'll log it as a possible software bug.
From here, I’ll meet with my team to take a closer look so we can determine next steps. Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course, if that’s the case, I’ll let you know!
Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. Here's more information on how we identify and tackle bugs.
I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down.
Thank you for inquiring about this issue! Currently, it is still open in Storyline 3 and I'll provide your comments to our team on the report. We'll be sure to share an update with you here as soon as we can!

I recreated the same example in Storyline 2 and the arrow keys move the box right away when the course first loads.

Thanks Perry for that heads up - and I see that our team filed the bug report similar to mine, so I will make sure we don't have duplicates.
Hi, Any solution found for the above issue?
