Articulate Closes when Preview or Publish

Mar 07, 2015

I will report this to Support but wanted to see if any one else was having this issue. I have two projects that Articulate will not preview or publish. I started with one bad project so I created a new version and started copying slides from one to the other. Makes me think there is something in those slides that Articulate does not like.

I will attach the story file. I hope there is an answer other than starting over again!

I have been working on a module for my doctorate degree and last week I started having the same problem! I can sometimes preview, but then it freezes and disappears (like I x out of the program). It is the same file that I have been working on for a year, but it just recently started.

I imported this module into another file, but it continues to do this!

Laura,

I am getting an error message that says articulate has to shut down and I have a form to complete that I guess goes to support. This happened three times last week and once this weekend and I completed the form each time.

I had originally copied some of the slides from the old program into the new one but have now started a completely new project and am redoing the project. This one does preview so I will continue working on this one and only use the old project for information.

It makes sense to me that when you imported the module into another file it still had problems. I basically had the same problem.

Hi Jeffrey and Laura!

I wanted to pop in and make sure that both of you are working locally and wanted to mention that you may want to try to repair your software.

I also popped in to check on a case for you Jeffrey, but I am not seeing it. If you are getting the error that allows you to auto-report, that goes to our development team and is not actually tied to a support case where we can interact with you. It's more like 'bug' reporting. So, if it's something you would like us to take a look at, I would encourage you to work with our support team here.

Leslie,

Thanks for the reply. I should have noted I am using Storyline 2 and the link you sent was for Studio 13. Since I only have the problem with one project, I decided to just rebuild it.

I am working locally as I always do and then I backup my files to the network.

Interesting about the auto-report because I completed at least three of them. Since I am rebuilding the project anyway and do not have a problem with this one, I will not pursue it.

Most of the time I don't have any issues with copying something from one project to another. In this case, I am completely changing it anyway since the original was so out of date. Maybe this was a good thing!

I'm having a similar problem.  I'm using Storyline 2, and I'm trying to publish, and it freezes.  Normally when I publish, I get a status window (Loading slides, etc) but I'm getting nothing.  I checked the folder that it's publishing to, and there seems to be content in all of the folders except the LMS folder.  Is that the issue?

The window is completely unresponsive... when I try to cancel, it asks if I'm sure, I click "yes," then nothing.  When I try to close the window... nothing.  When I right-click the icon on my menu and choose "close window,"... nothing.  I have to access it through my task manager to close it.

I need to get this published asap... working with aggressive deadlines.
