Articulate in Storyline - Resource tab doesn't show

Feb 18, 2013

hi, we've recently moved to Storyline from Articulate.  I have imported Articulate slides into a new Storyline story to update the content.

I can only see the Articulate interaction working when published, but it is working. And I worked out (with some help from the E-Learning Heros) how to get a button 'Next Slide' to show in the Articualte slides.

My problem is that the Resource tab doesn't show in the Articulate slide.  The tab is there and you can click it, but it won't show.  It's almost like it's hidden behind the Articulate slide.

The Resource tab works fine in the Storyline slides.

Any suggestions please

Hi Sandra. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

By "Articulate" slides, I assume you mean slides that were created in Presenter? Importing PowerPoint content into Storyline is not an exact one-to-one conversion. As a result, text may look a bit different. And although most features in PowerPoint and Articulate Presenter are supported in Storyline, some are not. You may want to take a look at this article on "Things to consider when importing PowerPoint into Storyline".

I think what you're saying is that the Storyline tab is visible on the slides with the Presenter content, but you can't interact with it, is that right? Can you share your .STORY file here, so we can take a look at what's happening?

Hi Sandra,

Thanks very much for getting back to me. I took a look a the images in your document. They're a little hard to see, but it looks like the content on the slides that isn't working is or an Engage interaction or a Quizmaker quiz. Can you confirm this for me?

If it is an Engage interaction, I believe I know what's happening here. Take a look a the following information:

You may find that some player elements get obscured by web objects on the slide. In other words, some player elements will actually appear behind web objects.

This can happen with the volume slider and any drop-down menus that you've added to the top left or top right of the Storyline player, such as menu, resources, glossary, or custom tabs.

This also affects videos inserted from websites (such as ScreenrVimeoGoogle Videos, etc) and imported Engage interactions, since these are also treated as web objects. (One notable exception is YouTube. YouTube videos inserted via Video from Website are wrapped in a Flash control, so they won't experience this issue.)

This is a known issue. Unfortunately, there is currently no workaround. When additional information becomes available, we'll post it here.

Note: This issue does not occur in HTML5 published output.
