Articulate & IPad error.

Apr 28, 2013

G'day Team,

My apologies if this has already been covered but am having a few issues launching / viewing a course created in Articulate Storyline via an IPad.

To start, the course is around 63MB - unsure if that's the initial problem but let's get that out there to start with.

First issue - course is published using both 'Include HTML5 output' & 'Use Articulate Mobile Player on IPad' via the LMS option. When the course is uploaded to an LMS (I test on ScormCloud and our inhouse LMS), it works fine via a PC. However, when we try to launch the course via an IPad - it begins to load the course and then closes/drops out of the browser without launching.

Second issue - published the same course but did not use the 'Use Articulate Mobile Player on IPad' option to see if that got around the first issue. It did get further as the 'loading wheel' appeared but then got the following error - "Error loading/data.xml: error". When I hit OK the 'loading wheel' stayed on screen forever.

Any ideas what could be causing this to occur?

Cheers

Deano

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Deano!

It may be an issue with the size of the project, but without seeing it, it's difficult to say.

Here's an article related to the error you received in the HTML5 version that may help:

Articulate Support > "Error loading story_content/data.xml" in HTML5 Output

If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a look at the file and see what's happening. You'll be able to attach the .STORY file on the second page of the following form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue. Please also include the URL for this thread in the form. Also, please share the case number with me. You're welcome to do so here, or in a private message. This way I can follow the progress of the case and update this thread.

Thanks!

Good morning Deano,

I'm afraid we don't have an official release date, just yet. We are currently testing the update, however, and it's pretty exciting. Hopefully we'll be able to provide more information in the near future.
