"Articulate Mobile Player cannot access this content" Help

Jul 08, 2015

Hello,

We have published a Storyline 2 elearning for web: we UNCHECKED the HTML5 and CHECKED the "Mobile Player" option.  We loaded it onto our application server on our Company's intranet.  The elearning works great when I use a PC and it is playing the "flash" version.  When I'm on a mobile device, the articulate app gives the error: "Articulate Mobile Player cannot access this content" .

Curiously, when I publish for LMS with the same settings (no HTML5, yes mobile app), the mobile app works.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Jen,

The Articulate Mobile Player app will display the following error if it can't access course files on your hosting server:

Cannot Download Content:

Articulate Mobile Player cannot download the content because one or more of the files cannot be found.

This error indicates that one of the following is true:

  • You're not connected to the Internet.
  • One or more expected files were moved, deleted, or not uploaded to the server.

First, ensure that your mobile device is connected to the Internet. If the error persists, upload the published output to the server again.

If you think it's the server you're uploading your content too, you could also look at testing within one of these options here.

The other error you may see when attempting to launch Articulate Storyline content in the Articulate Mobile Player app is:

Cannot Access Content:

Articulate Mobile Player cannot access this content.

The reasons for that error are described here.

Oh no Ian! I'm getting the same error when trying to view that article. I'm sharing this information with our team, so that we can get that corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Are you publishing for LMS or Web? I've seen issues with publishing to LMS and using the Articulate Mobile Player if your LMS requires a login.
