Articulate not Displaying All Inputs When Resuming

Mar 23, 2019

Hi All,

We want our series of project to remember a user's values & quiz inputs when they exit a project, and remain filled when the user returns. Majority of the values come back fine, we're having particular issues with radio buttons.

  • We understand articulate saves variables/inputs when the user switches to the next slide
  • We saw posts that some people were having issues saving values/inputs when their project blocked users from going to the next slide until values were put in. We removed anything that would block a user from continuing to the next slide, and still have the issue
  • Export: LMS, Tincan, On restart: always resume

I've attached a version of the files where the user isn't blocked from going to the next slide.

'issues.story' is a chunk of the file we're having particular issues with
'solution.story' has working radio buttons on

Any help is hugely appreciated!

Hi Zsolt,

I removed all slide triggers that reset radio buttons to their initial state (find the new version attached), still having the same issue...

I can see the radio button's variable is being saved correctly, but the project doesn't keep the correct radio button selected. Even when you go to the next slide, then back again the radio button doesn't stay selected.

The functioning radio button in 'solution.story' doesn't have this trouble keeping selected. I could have the slide read the variable and highlight the correct radio button at the slide trigger level. But I have a LOT of slides with radio buttons, so that would be a lot of extra coding, and the working example does this automatically...

I'm wondering:

  • I have the files resume save state to 'Always Resume', is there another save state I'm missing?
  • The successful radio button in 'solution.story', only has the choice of two radio buttons, all the other radio button sets have more than two, is that an issue?
  • All of my button groups are named the same, could that cause issues? Multiple instances of radio buttons?
  • The 4th slide of 'issues_test1', is it an issue because the user can select radio buttons by clicking the button to the left of each radio button?

Any answers are greatly appreciated!
