Articulate's future without Flash support

Aug 09, 2017

Hello all,

This question comes from my client. How is Articulate Storyline going to stay current with major companies like Google and Adobe dropping flash? We are noticing with our client that we can only play our published storyline files on PCs that have flash installed on them. The IT department may not install flash on the company computers much longer as they will probably deem it outdated and the amount of compatible PCs that can play our projects will decrease.

What is Articulate's plan to stay up-to-date with the new practices of internet applications? Will there be a new updated Articulate Storyline program my client will need to purchase to update our current projects so they will be compatible with Google Chrome and other Internet browsing programs?

We are just looking for any official info that our client can take and justify any needed upgrades for our current Storyline program.  Thank you in advance.

Storyline 360 and Storyline 3 both will publish the HTML5 only. That said even Storyline 1 and 2 will play HTMl5 content on Chrome, however the output of 360 and 3 are far superior to SL1 or 2.

You do still need flash installed to author any storyline content.  there is an official statement on here somewhere to support Adobe's latest news.
