Michael is correct - you can have both installed on the same system. When I installed SL2 on my machine, it did default to opening .story files in SL2, but this is a setting you can adjust within your Program settings of Windows. And of course if you right click on a file, you'll be able to choose "Open with.." or open the particular version of Storyline and then search for the file from within there.

That is what I thought it would be.... but you never can tell.  I went through hell a few years ago with another product.  I was assured that I could keep and run the old version, but when it came to installing the update, it overwrote the old software......

I am forever skeptical but, when the vendor puts it in writing, at least you have some recourse and someone to yell at for help!!

I haven't seen it as a PDF yet - and I know with the release of Studio '13 last year, we didn't do a PDF guide of all the tutorials, as it seemed to not be accessed by enough users.

I'm happy to put the question to our team and see if they plan on putting together a PDF version! I'll post any updates in this thread once available.

Will Storyline 2 generate completion certificates or will I still need to "hack" the report.html file?

We still don't support certificates in Storyline 2, but you can still use the method of modifying the report.html file.

I have heard a few rumors about SL2 2 being able to publish to flash swf or export the file as a flash swf is that correct? And also I have been told there is a way to create an MP4 from a SL project in both SL1 and SL2. Can anyone help me out with those?

Congratulations on SL2! Looks like it contains a lot of the features I know I put feature requests in for a while ago .

But will the UPGRADE overwrite Storyline 1? Or would have you have to buy the standalone version to have both running on your machine?

Hi Noelle, the upgrade will not overwrite Storyline 1 - so you can buy the upgrade and install it on the same machine as SL 1 and you will have both SL 1 and SL 2 to use.

Storyline 1 and Storyline 2 can be installed on the same computer. When you upgrade, Storyline 1 must remain with the Storyline 2 licensee. It can't be transferred to a different user.
