I'm halfway through editing an e-learning course within Storyline 2, and I'm repeatedly getting an error message when I click on a particular slide layer. I have made a short video to show you this issue, can anyone help?
I have submitted a ticket to Articulate, who are seeing the same error. I thought it might be worth posting here just in case anyone else has come across this issue before and/or can suggest an alternative solution.
How frustrating! I downloaded your file and I actually got a different kind of crash! When I hid the hotspot to see if I could edit the text in the yellow box, this happened:
This might be a silly question, but can you just delete the slide and re-do it? I was able to delete it.
Thanks for taking a look for me. I think I was getting the same error message, because I could see that Red Cross on the blank slide once I clicked on the Send Error Report button.
I think I may have figured it out, I have deleted the slide layer and duplicated the layer below. Deleting the whole slide would have been another option, so thanks for the suggestion.
So frustrating! Let's hope it doesn't happen again!
Have a fantastic Friday, really appreciate you taking the time to take a look!
Ah in that case, have a fantastic weekend! I was about to curse you, but then I remembered I'm working with the Canadian client, so I'm much closer to the weekend than them!
I've been playing with Storyline for the past few hours and have identified when this error is occurring. It seems to be when I use CTRL+V to paste some text within a template created by one of my colleagues.
I'm not sure if this helps you diagnose the problem, it is still happening fairly regularly. But at least I know when it happens and how to avoid this.
Am still keen to find a resolution though, I will keep this discussion updated if I hear back from Articulate support.

PS. I think I will still follow this up with Articulate, it will be interesting to find out why the error is happening.
No worries, and yes, you should definitely follow up, could be something to add to their 'to-do' list for future releases
My Friday is about to end! I am down under :)
