Articulate Storyline 3 has stopped working

Apr 11, 2019

I get this message when I close out of Storyline 3. Anyone else get it and know how to fix it? It doesn't give me any options on error messages, so maybe this is just how Storyline 3 is?

Hi Beth,

It looks like Alvin's initial link is directing you to submit a case vs. sharing the directions he mentioned. I'll take a guess that he meant the directions here to repair your Storyline install. It's also worth confirming that you're following along with our best practices here to prevent issues with your files, that could ultimately lead to corruption.

Hi, Beth. Thanks for those details, and I'm so sorry this error is back!

We like starting with a simple repair since a fresh copy of Storyline typically does the trick in these scenarios. Admin privileges are needed during this process, and I can see how this creates a roadblock for folks.

Let me get this in front of my team to see how we can help. I've opened a support case on your behalf, so keep an eye out for next steps shortly!

Hi Leslie,

Thanks but this "bug" does not really affect my production as it occurs after I close SL. I just posted it so that Articulate could see if something needs to be fixed so that others aren't affected as well.

Also, as everyone should know, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in Jan. 2020. Therefore I plan to upgrade my computer to Windows 10 in the next month or so and thus will have to reinstall StoryLine anyway. I will let you know if the errors continues, or maybe it is just related to Win 7.

Russ
