Articulate Storyline and GoAnimate

Apr 27, 2017

Has anyone experienced an issue with the GoAnimate video stopping on the first slide and then after the amount of time passes that the video should play it goes to the next page in Storyline? Works fine prior to publish.  The originals published and played  fine. Tried different laptops to publish and play....

This very well could be.  I had malware (cause by loading One Note  - before I had 365) and my IT department insisted on formatting my drive. This took a lot of time and caused multiple issues, so I hope that I am not just overlooking it.....

Wendy...It works in Preview mode - just not the published version (select Story_html5 or story)..The lesson starts but stops at the first page of the video. Did you check the published version or did you publish the Storyline file? Thanks for helping!

Nancy...I am using Windows 10...I thought with Internet Explorer, but it might have been Edge.  I changed to Chrome and tried to run published file and it did not work.  They did  format my drive and so the software is different from the last time it worked.  Ann

I certainly agree with Wendy here Ann and you want to be sure you are publishing the content and viewing in the intended environment.

Here is some additional information:

When you view a Storyline 2 course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that can cause various features of the course to fail. To test your published content and share it with others, it's best to upload it to a web server or LMS. See this article for details.

I have the same problem with Presenter 360.  I export the goanimate ("vyond") video and import it as an mp4 via the articulate ribbon in powerpoint and it (usually) previews fine, but when it comes to the output it doesn't work -- i just get a still image with no sound and no motion and then, eventually it moves to the next slide without playing any of the video.

This is really really important I've been working creating videos in goanimate for over a year now and finally ready to import them into presenter 360 and it's inconsistently not working.

Sometimes it does, but cant count on it.  This is all on the same windows 10 machine with 16 Gb of ram and 2 Tb of SSD drive.

Help!

Jim

Hi Jim,

You've put a lot of work into these videos, so I'm here to help figure out why they're not working!

Can you check what update of Presenter 360 you're using? The latest update is 21 released earlier this week. When you're testing the published output, are you testing it locally or have you uploaded it to your LMS or a webserver?

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. Could you share a copy of one of the MP4s with me? You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here.

I’ll delete it when I’m done troubleshooting.
