I'm currently exploring using a clicker to drive a course in Storyline 2. I'm using the move to next slide when user presses the " " key trigger to progress the course. This is working great, the only thing I can't do is go full screen on the videos.
But when try to jump to a new layer and that layer has a move to next slide trigger it automatically bypasses the new layer and jumps to the next slide when I press the clicker.
Okay, I found a workaround using variables that others might find helpful.
I created a variable called "PlayerReady" and set the default value to False. I then made the move to next slide trigger on the layer which was causing the issue before dependant on the variable value being True.
I then added an adjust variable trigger to change the value to True once the timeline had reached 3 secs.
This adjustment then allowed the layer to load properly without skipping like before. If anyone has any ideas how to get around this without using variables that would be great. But for now this seems like a decent workaround. I've added the file for anyone that is interested.

Hey Jack!
What trigger are you using to open the slide layer? Does the base layer have a "jump to next slide" trigger on it?
I don't have experience using a remote mouse tool with Storyline, but I did a little digging and found this older discussion that might be helpful.
Let us know how you make out!
Hi Alyssa,
Thanks for getting back to me. On the base layer I'm using the "Show Layer, When user presses a key" to open the layer,
It's the same key that is used for the "jump to next slide, when user presses a key" trigger that is on the slide layer.
I've added the file I'm testing with so you can take a look. I'll try a few other things to get around it.
Thanks,
Jack
