I'm building a training module where the first question assesses the participants skill level on a scale of 1 -10 on the first screen (using checkboxes), then the question is repeated at the end of the module to see if the participant's knowledge has improved. Can anyone tell me how I can link back to the first score to give a message depending on whether the new score is higher or lower than the first (ie: "well done you've improved" or "you may need to revisit this module")?
here is a rough sample how you might set it up. You'd need to work out the timing on the final slide, I have the feedback layer showing as soon as they make a selection. Also, what is the feedback if score remains the same.
thanks, this looks good (will need to add the response if score is the same). Can you tell me how to add operators to the trigger condition? Mine only shows options for less than or greater than.
When I expand the triggers I don't get all the options in your screen grab. I've attached a screengrab of my options. It works if you enter the same score so it's getting there
Hello Colin - Glad to see that Wendy was able to get you headed in the right direction here. Not sure what you mean by your last question: Will this method send the pre and post test scores back?
I need to send the scores from the preTest and postTest back to be stored on a database along with the results of the other questions in the training module. At the moment I assume that when a score is selected the interaction is just to show the relevant response
Ah, thanks for the clarification Colin. Tracking results via database is not a supported activity. Hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in and assist you with your request here if they have created something similar.
I thought that all the interactions within articulate were automatically stored so that records of participants scores were kept so that the trainers know who's taken the tests and what they scored.
Hey Colin -- In order to track and report that type of information, you'll need to host your course in a Learning Management System or Articulate Online. There are other methods of tracking as well, but they won't provide you with the type of details it sounds like you're looking to see, such as individuals' scores. This article is a really great resource detailing ways to track your courses and what type of tracking capabilities correspond with each.
Hope that helps clarify a bit, please let me know if you have further questions!
Hey Colin! If you're using a Learning Management System, Storyline will track and send data to it. I'm not familiar with the term "LMA" but if it's the same setup as an LMS, you should be good to go. This article details what kind of data is tracked by Storyline and I would also recommend reaching out to your LMA for specifics regarding what they track and what settings would be best for you to use when publishing.
No worries, Colin! I'm constantly learning new terms in here so I wouldn't have been surprised if LMA were one of them :) If you're using an LMS then you should be able to track and record your learners answers easily. I'd still make sure to double check with yours just to verify what publishing settings would be best, as support for Tin Can API, AICC, and SCORM can vary based on LMS.

Hi Colin

Hope this helps

Hey Colin
if you look at the Post Test base layer there are two triggers - one will display the 'better' layer and the other will display the 'worse' layer.
If you expand the triggers you will be able to adjust the condition to be less than/equal to or greater than/equal to
Hi Wendy,
When I expand the triggers I don't get all the options in your screen grab. I've attached a screengrab of my options. It works if you enter the same score so it's getting there
Hi Colin
I have set my variables up as Number variables have you set them up as T/F?
Mine were set as text (must be the default). Looks like it's working now. Will this method send the pre and post test scores back?

Could you elaborate on that a bit?

Hi Ali,
The course will be hosted in an LMA, will this mean the answers are automatically sent and stored?
