assessment help!!

Oct 07, 2014

Hello,

I'm somewhat new to storyline, but I am enjoying learning everything I can. I work for a membership organization that provides CME credit to doctors, and we want to use storyline for our online courses. Ideally, this is what we need from the assessments.

For the post-test, we want to give users an unlimited amount of opportunities to achieve a passing score of 75%. I know how to do that, but, can I set it up to where if they fail the assessment, that they will be taken to a different screen than if they pass it?

Thanks,

Jeff Fraler

Hello Jeff, and welcome to Heroes!

You can achieve this by using triggers and variables. You can set the user to advance to a "after you passed" slide by clicking a button after a quiz. You will need to use the trigger Jump to "x" slide on condition that the variable "results.ScorePercent" is greater than or equal to your passing grade.

Then you can direct them back to retake the quiz using the same manner, except direct them to a different slide using the Condition that "results.scorePercent" is less than your passing score.

Also you will need to use the trigger "reset Results" on condition that Results.ScorePercent" is less than your passing score.

Attached is a sample file to look at the triggers. I used the built in Next button to take the user to a pass slide or back to the quiz. You can use any custom made button as well.

And I am sure others in the community may chime in with other ideas as well!
