Assistance needed in how to force a learner to review options until they select one of the two correct ones.

Mar 10, 2021

Hi.  I need some help with a scenario I am giving learners in a course in Storyline 360.  I give them options, then they need to select one of the four options.  For users who select option 1 and/or 2, I would like to force them to review the options again and make another selection.  And to continue this until they select either option 3 or option 4.  I am new to developing courses on Storyline and am trying to learn, but I've been struggling with this for a few weeks now, so time to ask the community for assistance...  Any suggestions on how to do this, or what I am doing wrong?  I have attached my file.

Hi, Jeanie.

Thank you for sharing your .story file!

Reviewing content works really well with Lightboxes, revealing the content of other slides.

On your question slide, you can do the following:

  • On each incorrect layer, I would add 2 buttons: Review and Try Again.
  • For the Review button, I would add a trigger to lightbox Slide 1.3 when the user clicks the button.

  • The Try Again button would hide the layer and allow the user to choose a different option.

I am attaching the edited .story file here with my suggestions.

Let me know if this works!
