Atriculate templates not showing content

Apr 15, 2014

Hello. I created a loop timer on my articulate master slide, but when I use an articulate template the content doesn't show. If I remove the timer from the master slide, the content shows. Any ideas on how to fix this?

HI Alec and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Are you able to share a little more detail on how you created the timer, or better yet, are you able to share the .STORY file? You can attach the file in your response by using the small paperclip icon.

If we can take a look at how this is set up, we may be able to figure out what's going on.

Thanks!

Hi Alec,

No problem - welcome back :)

First, I believe I found out what's causing the issue with the content. On the layers for the layout you're using, there are still placeholders. The triggers that you're using for the timer are opening all of these layers and the placeholders are covering up the content on the slide (the character, text, etc.). It's confusing because it looks just like the content on the base layer - but deleting these placeholders seems to fix the content display issue.

As for the variable text, it looks like this was inserted into a placeholder on the Master as well, this is why it does not show up in Slide or Normal View or when you preview. It actually needs to be inserted onto the Master slide layout as a text box.

Now, I've made all of these changes for you and attached the .STORY file here, just in case you want to take a look at the modifications.

Please let me know if you have any other trouble with this, or any questions.

Thanks!
