Audio and scrolling text under a speaker marker

Feb 12, 2016

Hi all, newbie here (3rd small presentation)and needing a bit of advice. I am trying to allow the text to show and also play audio track when the learner clicks my marker. Does the program only allow one or the other under markers and if so what is the best way to introduce extra text info and enable audio to coincide with it? (jeesh..I hope that makes sense)

Cheers

Hi Brian and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!  I'm just getting going in Storyline also and was working with markers today so thought I’d jump in and see if I could help out.  Are just you looking to have the audio play and also display the text in in a scrolling panel when the learner clicks on the marker?

If so you should be able to make this work as long as the “Audio Only” option is not selected in the format tab of the marker settings which would restrict to only audio and not show the text.  I was able to play my audio and also bring up the text box by making sure this option was not selected.  Here’s a screenshot from my quick test:  http://screencast.com/t/aysxOet8T

I found some great information here also: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/adding-markers-in-articulate-storyline-2

Hopefully this helps out.  Good luck on the new presentation!
