We are having an issue with audio for some of our projects. It is huge, it consist of about 120 slides, each slide has its own audio located on the main layer. The issue exist when launching the course on an Android devices. After completing app. 45-50 slides, the audio stops working and no sounds are heart for the rest of the project. Have you faced similar problems in the past? I haven't found any information about this in the community.
Hi, Andrey -- Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties! Are you only seeing this difficulty on Android devices, or are you seeing it on other types of devices/environments, as well? Please see this info on System Requirements, and also our recommendations for Publishing and Sharing SL2 Content. If you continue to have difficulties, please check out this info on Publishing for Mobile Devices and let us know if running through the steps listed here helps you find improvement.
Yes, we followed all the rules. The issue appears on the Android devices using Chrome browser only - the audio stops playing after 45-50 slides and never play until the course is reloaded. It looks like an RAM overflow or something like that...
Hi, Andrey -- Would it be possible for you to share your file so that I can test it out on my Android device to see if I encounter the behavior you are describing?
Attached the source file. The language is Russian, but you can navigate through using the right arrow. There are some clickable elements so you would need to click all the elements to enable the next button on the screens with the next button disabled.
The audio stops playing on app. 10 of the lesson 2. We're using Android device with Chrome browser.
Hi, Andrey -- Thanks so much for sharing your file and I wanted to report that I also experienced the same behavior. After further exploration, it appears that this behavior has already been reported to our QA team is being investigated. The only workaround noted at this time is to Utilize Articulate Mobile Player (AMP) when viewing the course in Android devices. I will go ahead and add your thread to the ticket, so that any updates from our QA team are sure to be shared here.
I also wanted to share that our team continues to press Google in regards to the issue documented here on their end - but currently we have no updates. If you have a Google account you can also "star" or vote for this issue on their site.
Our team also is still investigating potential fixes within Storyline - so once I have any additional information to share on our end or if we hear from Google our team will be sure to update the thread.
Hi Christie! Thank you for the information provided. I voted for the issue on the Google site and added my comment. Let's see if they will fix it in the next Chrome releases. Crossing my fingers. For now we're gonna recommend to use Articulate Mobile player on the Android devices.
Just wanted to share an update on the issue in this forum thread and documented here in our KB articles, that Google has released a fix in Chrome 49 for Android. Update your Chrome app to allow your Storyline courses to work properly.
