Audio Editor

Hello,

I wanted to take a portion of my audio from one clip and add it into another clip (on a different slide). When I was in the audio editor, I selected the part of the audio I wanted and copied it, but when I opened up the audio editor on the other slide, there was nothing to paste.  I went back and tried to play with it again, thinking I had to save it first and now my audio clip I cut from the original clip is missing somewhere. I know I copied it on the audio editor - is there a way to get it back?
