Audio file corruption when working on a screen

Dec 09, 2013

Win8.1 via Parallels for Mac (will we ever see a mac version?)

Current version of SL

This has been happening too often. I import a wav file to the timeline, work on the file. SL stops working, gives me a notice dialog, then quits. Start it back up and the audio track looks like "blocks" of noise; play it and it's just static noise. Delete the track, try to add it back in; get same static track. Must quit SL and restart it to be able to add a good audio track in again. Sometimes I must reboot Windows as well. Needless to say this takes too much production time, and I am saving the file constantly, which also eats up time.

Anyone else having a similar issue? Don't think I saw this before Win8.1

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I do not have sharing profiles turned on in Parallels. I have never had this problem in the multiple projects I have worked on until this recent SL update and the Win8.1 update. So it could also be related to one or the other or both.

I did seem to hit on a solution today (hopefully it will last) by converting the audio wav files to mp3 audio, and then inserting the mp3's into SL. So far that is working.
