I have found that when I insert narration in a number of layers, after the first layer appears, if the user selects the scroll bar at bottom of play to jump back, the narration in the current layer continues and then the narration from the previous layer plays over it simultaneously.
I am sure I have missed a simple setting but would appreciate the help.
It sounds like you're using the seekbar to replay a portion of the slide. You'll want to take a look at the settings associated with your layers (using the little cog icon next to each layer) to hide other slide layers, and if you've allowed seeking within the layer itself:
