Audio (m4a) Stops Playing in Chrome

Jun 04, 2021

I have several courses I've created which contain .m4a files. When I publish for LMS (SCORM 1.2), the audio files stop playing after the first few seconds when using Chrome. I am not using auto-play. A trigger is set up to play the audio when the user clicks a button. This doesn't happen in IE, Edge, or when I preview the slides in Storyline 3.

In some scenarios, adding triggers to hide the next button until the media completes has helped, but the results are not consistent.

Any suggestions?

Hello Stephanie!

I'm happy to help! Are you finding the audio stops playing in Chrome when the course is in the LMS environment? Or does the audio also stop playing when publishing the course for the web? If you haven't tested the course in a web environment, I recommend using Tempshare.

I'd also recommend testing the course in another LMS environment like SCORM cloud to see if the audio stops outside of the LMS environment you're using.
