Is there any way to have a bank of audio files imported for playback that ARE NOT associated with the main timeline or a layer? I'm envisioning a trigger for "Media completes" where you select the audio file you want but it doesn't have to be embedded on the timeline.
Not at this time. The triggers would need to recognize the audio in order for them to work, something they wouldn't do if they don't show up in the timeline in some way.
I say not at this time, you could have audio not associated in the timeline via a Web Object, but the triggers still wouldn't work, as Web Objects play independently of any timeline.
