I have seen several posts regarding this topic. Is it still an issue with SL360? I tried the "repair storyline" link provided in a previous post, but the link errored. I am using an external USB mic and like other posters, audio works fine in other applications, just doesn't pick up when screen recording. Appreciate any insight.
Yes, the mic I'm using is active in the tray and I am able to record directly to a storyline slide. I am actually using Audacity as a workaround in the meantime. What I really need help with is another ticket I have open regarding the formatting of recordings when I copy them. Thanks for the help.
I dont have the case number but, I started this 21 hours ago...
Recorded screen is not formatted correctly By Terry Arthur Hello all
I did several screen recordings today and they work wonderfully. They were done independently and saved as different .story files. I tried to copy them into another project as separate scenes and when I did, the formatting is very screwed up. I tried recording from within the new document...I tried importing from the original location, but I get the same result. Very frustrating. Prime version below works perfectly...v2 does not. I was unable to load v2 .story file (108MB). I appreciate any insight.

Ah, it's actually a forum thread! Now I see it, and I just responded. ☺️
Now that I'm looking in your file, I see that you're using View Mode step-by-step slides. With these slides, recorded audio won't be used. Step-by-step slides display only the action-related video clips from your screencast. Your audio will still be available in the original screen recording in case you want to insert it as a video on a single slide.

Sorry you're getting stuck here, Terry!
Did you double-check that you marked the Microphone box in the recording window, then used the drop-down list to choose a microphone?
Have you tried simply recording audio narration in Storyline to see if the same problem happens there?
Beyond that, try these troubleshooting steps, and let me know if it makes a difference. If not, we'll keep digging!

Hi Terry, do you have that case number handy? I'm not seeing it through a name search. I'd be happy to check on the status of that case for you.
