Audio on layers randomly cut short

Sep 29, 2013

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can help me.

I have multiple layers on one slide. The first layer plays a voice over and has a next layer button on it allowing user to click forward if they do not want to listen to the whole layer's audio.

Each layer has a trigger on it to show the next layer when the timeline ends.

I have published it to web and something strange happens to it that did not show up in any of the previews:

randomly, some of the layers show before the voiceover has completed, essentially cutting off what is said on one layer and moving right on to the next layer.

The voiceovers are only very short (around 5-10 sec) each. It happens randomly across my whole project.

Has anyone else seen this change once they have published to web?

Hi John and welcome to Heroes!

Are there any additional triggers or buttons on your slide associated with the audio? If those are appearing in the trigger panel before the "show layer" trigger those will execute first.  You mentioned it happens randomly, do you mean particular layers (where you don't see any differences between them and ones that execute correctly) always have the behavior or randomly, like if you access the course a second time it doesn't necessarily happen on the same layer. If you'd like to share your .story file here for us to take a look at we might be able to get a better sense of how it's set up and what's happening. If you'd prefer to not post in the forums, you can also share it here.
