Audio Problems

I have Storyline 1, and I am experiencing significant audio problems. I'm using .wav files, and the .wav file sounds fine in Windows Media Player. When I import it into Storyline and attempt use the Audio Editor, the audio playback slows and skips terribly. It is difficult to hear and to edit.
To troubleshoot, I completely uninstalled Storyline and re-installed just now. Afterward, I rebooted my computer. I opened the .story file I was working in, deleted the existing audio, and re-inserted the audio with intentions to re-edit, and I continue to have this problem.
Any suggestions on how I can fix it? It is extremely frustrating, and of course I'm working on a deadline.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Karen

Hi Karen,
I'm sorry to hear about your audio problems - and you'll want to ensure you're working with local project files as described here.
Also, if you hear noise or feedback in your course, it may be the codec or bitrate of your file.
Although Articulate Storyline and Articulate Studio '13 support a wide range of audio file formats (AAC, AIF, AIFF, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA), not all codecs and bitrates are supported. If you encounter either of the issues described above, we recommend converting your audio files to 16 bit 44 KHZ PCM WAV for best results.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks soooooo much for the prompt response. I am not working locally. I will try that. Also, it has only recently started. I've worked for almost 1.5 years from this network drive without incident. Very strange.
I recorded the .wav files in Audacity, but I will still check out the tutorial to see if I missed something. Perhaps the network is creating my problem. I'm anxious to give it a try.
Thanks again.
Hi Karen,
Working off a network drive can be erratic so I'd recommend starting fresh from a local drive to be sure. Also if it recently started you may want to look at going through a repair of Storyline and ensure that's installed locally too.
