Automatic section review after quiz failures

Sep 10, 2016

I have put a series of quiz questions in my course.  They are True/False template questions that I changed to yes or no instead of true or false.  Our new standard is, if you fail to get 100% on the quiz you must review the section and then retake the quiz.  How do I set this up?  I would like it to be automatic if possible.  Such that if you fail to get the 100% 3 times it automatically sends you back to the beginning of the section.

It is pretty easy if you are using a built-in quiz template. Set the number of attempts to 3, and the passing score to 100%.

On the quiz slide , on both the Incorrect and Correct layer, set the trigger on the Continue button to jump to the result slide for the quiz.

On the results slide, set the trigger on the Retry Quiz button to jump to the beginning of the section.

Hi Erich,

If you fail to get 100% 3 times, it sends you back to the beginning of the section.... meaning before the quiz even? You can determine which slide they jump back to by adding a trigger to the "retry" button on your results slide.

If you set up your failure layer to include the "retry" element and set the passing score to 100%, the user will see the retry everytime they get a score lower than that. If you want to limit the overall amount of times that they take the quiz you could look at the set up here.
