Automatic slide progression

Mar 20, 2018

A collection of scenes.  Each transitions to "next scene" when the user clicks next.

If the last "Slide Properties" of each scene is modified from "By User" to "Automatically", a trigger is added to jump to "Next Slide", not "Next Scene" on timeline end.

Funny thing is it will transition to the next scene, but it takes about 20 seconds to do it.

I don't know which is the problem here. Is it that it takes 20 seconds, or that the "Automatically" option doesn't add the right trigger.

Initially, all the slides were user-advanced.  NEXT button trigger of the last slide of each scene set to "Next Scene". The course plays fine in user-advance mode when the learner clicks the NEXT button.

Customer requested "Automatic" advance and the trigger that Slide Properties creates for the last slide in the scene is "Jump to Next Slide". There is no "Next Slide" for the scene's last slide.

Somehow, after around a 15 second wait, the course does transition to the first slide of the next scene. It isn't useful however. The learner waits so long.

We manually modified the last slide  trigger of each scene a to jump to "Next Scene" on timeline end. Problem solved. However, we believe the authoring system should not have quirks like this.

Still, which is the more important issue? That Slide Properties' "Automatically" advance creates a "Jump to next slide" when it should create "Jump to next scene", or ... that the last slide somehow transitions to the next scene after a long wait.
