Avoiding using variables for timed slide and disabling next button
Mar 22, 2017
Hi there,
I think I have a dire task ahead. I added the menu/slide restriction function to a clients package as well as keeping the standard 5 second slide duration before the user can click next to advance to next slide.
The problem is the client wants the standard next button to be disabled while the slide is completing the 5 second slide duration and then once this is completed to have the next button restored to a normal state and the user able to progress and click next.
As I have over 200 slides, setting a slide complete variable for each slide will be greatly time consuming, I was wondering if there was an automatic feature for this when restricting a menu/slide which also coincides with the slide duration and disabling the next button until the slide has completed?
I hope this makes sense or if anyone has a quick fix for me.
Please help me.

Hi there Mitzi!
It sounds like you've already set your navigation to Restricted, which would be the first step. From there, you'll want to create two triggers on the first slide:
Finally, copy those triggers from the first slide, and paste them to all other the other slides.
I hope this helps!
Hi there Alyssa,
Thank you for this. I think that I might have to rely on slide variables as the clients wants the learners to be able to once completed, revisit a page in the same setting without having to complete the interactive activities or wait the 5 seconds again. I don't think there is anyway around it :(
I understand, Mitzi. And if you do find a workaround, be sure to share it here for anyone else who may run across this thread in the future!
