I have a background that I see in story view and in preview mode but when I go to publish, it is white. I have published in scorm and placed it in a moodle and I have used articulate tempshare. I still get the same results. Please help!
Are you able to share your .story file here, so we can take a look at what's happening, please?
Also, please let us know which web browser you're using to test the project. If you've tried any others, let us know if the background remains white in multiple web browsers.
OK. Here's the file. Since the problem is a missing background, I deleted much of the proprietary information so I could post here. To recap, there is a blue collage-like background which I can see in story view and in preview mode. But when I go to publish the background is missing. The problem seems to be intermittent. Meaning I sometimes can publish and get a background and her times I cannot. This is true if I publish to a moodle, articulate tempshare or just the screen view after the publishing process. I have viewed in Firefox and Chrome with no apparent difference.
I read an earlier post about corrupted files. I am guilty of working right from dropbox. And as long as I am in full confession mode, I have periods, underscores and spaces in my file naming. Oh yes, I have also had to copy and paste into this file because the client designed in 4:3 and wants to publish in 16:9.
I'm hoping something is just wrong with the master slide. Please help!
I took a look at the project and previewed on my end. I do see the background you're referring to and it seems to function properly in preview for me as well.
Published for CD - Download Link (be sure you save it locally and run the .exe file)
The reason I published for multiple output types and servers is because you mentioned that this doesn't happen every time.
Unless I'm looking for the wrong blue background, I'm not seeing the issue in any of those versions.
If that's the case, we may actually want to look at your installation. Can you you please take a look at all of the links I shared above and let me know if you see the same?
I know it may not seem like it, but that is a good sign :)
This means that it may not be specific to your project, but rather specific to how it's being viewed or something happening with the published process.
I recommend publishing from your end and using all of the options I listed earlier.
I suggest using SCORM Cloud for your course - it's a great place to test SCORM content.
Another option would be to use ourTempshareserver. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.
You're always welcome to try outArticulate Online, as well - it's available for a free 30 day trial.

Hi Julie,

I'm not able to share the file here. I have only tested it in Chrome. I will test it in Firefox now
Hi Julie,
How large is the file? If it's larger than 20 MB, you may not be able to upload it to the forums.
If that's the case, it may help to import only some of the slides into a new project for testing:
Importing from Another Storyline Project - E-Learning Heroes
Another option would be to upload the file to a sharing site, like Dropbox. You could then share the link here for the full file.
If that's not an option for you, please let me know. We can discuss other options for sharing the file.
Thanks!
I get a white background in Firefox as well. I can post the file privately.
I am not at liberty to let other people see the file so I can't post it to this forum. Can I place a support ticket? Where do I do this?

Thank you very much for sharing the file!

I've published the following for testing:

I see the blue background on all of these versions. What do I do next?

Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
Christine, Are you able to help me with this today yet?
Hi Julie,
Did you check through Christine's last suggestions? It looks like you both may have posted very soon after one another so I'm not certain you saw it.
Please let us know if you're able to go through the suggestions she mentioned and how it behaves (and if you can share the links that would be ideal).
Thanks!
