I created a template containing several master slides, each containing an image.
When I attempt to create a project from the template and choose the slides I want, the image on the master slides does not import. The slides are blank and white. When I try to change the Layout, I can see the images on my various slide masters, but selecting one of them does not change the layout. The background remains white and blank.
If you're still having trouble, would you be able to submit a support case so we can take a closer look? Any screen recording you can give us during the submission process will be really helpful too. Thanks!
When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Presenter '09 courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
Are you having trouble with just one project or multiple projects?
I may need you to attach your Articulate Package here if you think we should have a look at it.
I'm having the same issue. In the Slide Master view, I've tried the following three things:
1. I created a custom layout similar to the "Title Only" layout but I've inserted the title I'd like to use for each slide in the text box at the top of the slide.
2. I modified the "Title Only" layout to include the custom title I'd like to use.
3. I modified the Master Slide layout to include the custom title.
When I select "New Slide" and the "Insert Slide" pop-up appears, I'm given the options of using all the slide masters I created and I can see the changes I've made on the slides that appear on the pop-up. Yet, when I select one, it defaults to a slide in which my changes do not appear.
How can I get my customized slide masters to show up?
It sounds like you're using the placeholder boxes for this? If so - they are just that, placeholders for font, size, color, etc. and won't insert the text as you have entered. You could add a standard text box to the slide masters or their layouts to include specific text that you could like to appear on the individual slides when you apply those masters.
Five minutes after I posted that question, I figured out exactly what you just said! I simply substituted my own text box for the placeholder textbox and now it works just fine.

I know this is an old thread, but I too am having this issue (along with other issues):
EDIT: I just realized this is in the Storyline forum, whereas I'm using Presenter '09 -- hopefully, they are similar enough

For more information on working with slide masters you'll want to review the information here.

Thanks very much for the reply and the advice!
No worries Michael. We all have those moments. :)
