Is the screen recording a step-by-step recording? Sounds like that may be the case. If so, those recordings are "split" across multiple slides and the video becomes a part of the actual slide background.
What you could do, since it's only one slide that you want to change, is take a screenshot of the new application and place it over the original image. You should be able to crop the image and place any hotspots or other interaction on the slide on top of the new image, so it will function the same as the original.
