Base Layer will not hide in SL2

I have had this problem before. This time, I downloaded an existing template from your site. The base layer is hidden when viewing layers. I did change the formatting/colors a little to better fit my course, but now the base layer displays with each layer. My formatting changes should not have affected this issue. And "yes" - I do have the correct boxes checked to hide the base layer when viewing layers.
Is this a bug with SL2?
Thank you, Terra

Hi Terra,
Did you unhide individual elements on the layers themselves using the "eye" icon? If you're able to share the .story file here we're happy to take a look.
Thank you. I did submit my file to have it viewed. This has happened to me before with SL2 so that is why I often wonder if there is a bug.

Thanks Terra and I see you're working with Ryan so I'll continue to follow along.
Hello,
I'm seeing the same issue where the base layer will not hide, it doesn't even give me the option to hide the base layer. Was this issue resolved? I'm not sure how to fix this.
Thanks
Melanie
Hey Melanie! Happy to help. Can you share a screenshot your slide layer timeline and properties? I'd like to start by understanding what you're seeing on your end!
