Base Timeline resumes when layer closes in HTML5

We have a custom CC Text button on stage that toggles a layer. It will show at the beginning of the slide if the variable cc_on == true. This same trigger is applied to all secondary layers as well. Some of our slides pause the base timeline to wait for a user interaction. The CC layer settings are all unchecked. "Allow seeking" is "Auto" and "When revisiting" is "Auto."
If the base timeline is paused and the CC is open and the user closes the CC, the base timeline resumes automatically.
Is this another HTML5 bug or is there anything we can do? We have 15 courses already developed and just now discovered this issue.

Hi Derek!
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look? I fear I'm not following your explanation and would like to see the behavior.
Sure! Here's a course reduced to a single page. Once published and tested in HTML5, turn on the CC layer (bottom left tab on stage). When the base layer pauses, waiting for you to click yes/no, click instead to toggle the cc and you'll see the issue we're having.
Thanks for the details Derek! I do see this behavior and will be doing some further testing in order to replicate and if so, will be reporting to our QA Team.
Well Derek - the good/bad news is the same. Able to replicate. I will be reporting this to our QA Team and this thread will be included so that I can update when applicable.
Thanks for the response. If it would be beneficial for future updates, I can provide a couple dozen more examples of items breaking in HTML5. We tend to push Storyline much further than I think it was intended for.
Hi Derek! You are always welcome to share your findings so that we can report them. Perhaps working with our support team here would be best.
Any updates on this issue.
Hi there, Ravindra. The behavior in this discussion was originally reported for Storyline 2. Tell me a bit more about what version of Storyline you're using and the behavior you're seeing.
Is your base layer timeline paused by a trigger, or is it paused in the slide layer properties?
