I want to do a batch of screen recordings outside of Storyline (through Screenr). Just want to know if I publish them to my Screenr account, can I later insert them into Storyline as "Screen recordings" or will my only option be to import them as MP4 videos?
I would like to use the step-by-step functionality later, so that is why I want to know upfront.
Unfortunately, your screen recordings will have to be done within Storyline. Videos imported from outside websites, including Screenr, import simply as videos.
I suppose you could use the screen record function to record your pre-existing Screenr videos and then use those as your step-by-step slides, but I think that extra step is what you're trying to avoid, correct?
Thanks for getting back to me. I thought I found a work-around but I ran into a glitch. I tried doing my batch screen recordings (using Storyline) in a new file. Then I made all my edits and tried to import that file (with the scenes & slides) into my main file. Crazy thing is that during the Storyline import... only the scenes come in.. not the slides. I am attaching a Screenr I took so you can see what I mean.
P.S. What I am REALLY just trying to do is make my screencasts in a different user account so that I have a "clean desktop". I found that I was able to access STORYLINE there because it is a shortcut on my desktop. So my main storyline file is my own Windows user account, but I can't use it for screencasting because it's too messy.
Thanks for the screencast. I think that helped clarify what might be going on. Looks like you might be running into this screen recording import bug. Good news is, it's going to be fixed in our next update, which shouldn't be too far off.
In the meantime, do you have any suggestions then on how to jump back and forth between Windows User Accounts to make screencasts using Storyline. I even tried just starting a screen recording in my main account and then logging into my TEST account, but the screen recording paused when I logged into the other account.
I have to do some Desktop recordings which is why I need the clean TEST account.

This would be a really cool feature request.

Think that's what's happening?
Thanks for the feedback.
