I guess it would depend on which mathematical symbols. Most math symbols are available and other have found that utilizing the equation editor in Word works better and insert formulas as images.
Al,
In regards to bullets - as Phil mentioned copying and pasting from word can cause some issues with formatting, and our team is working on improving the text formatting within Storyline. In the meantime, you may want to try making/formatting bullets within Storyline by:
Manually enter symbols, numbers, or letters to represent bullets or lists, and use the Indent buttons on the Home tab to create levels.
Use separate text boxes for each level of bullets or numbered lists.
Create your nested numbered lists in PowerPoint, and import them into Storyline. (This method doesn't work as well for nested bullets).
In general Adobe products text and asset nudging features are far superior to Storyline, not even really close in my opinion. Hopefully SL will catch up and this is from a fan of SL.
I don't see any "save as image" options within Word, but I do know that I can do it in Powerpoint. If you're looking to turn a word document into an image, you may want to look at using a screen capture or a PDF copy of it.
