From PPT to Storyline, How Long Does it Take?
Sep 26, 2015
Hello Articulate Community,
I have developed a PowerPoint presentation with audio voice-over that is intended to flow like a true e-learning module. I would like to transform my current PPT into an Articulate Storyline file and am trying to gauge how much time this could possibly take. The PPT is about 33 slides long, has all intended animations and voice-over included, and would require no further content development. Just ball-parking, how much time could a project like this take? Furthermore, how would you recommend I hire someone for quick, one-off jobs like this?
I sincerely look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Thanks!
Kevin

Hi Kevin
Conversion from powerpoint to storyline is not one to one and i would expect that there would be quite a to of resenting and animations to be redone, I would estimate with no new interactions or additional slides you are looking at 15-20 hrs work (including reviews). If you have used emphasis animations the developer would need to find different ways of doing this and some animations are not supported in Storyline.
You may be able to convert this faster using Studio instead.
Thanks a bunch for the speedy feedback Phil. What would the process look like in Studio? I downloaded the free trial earlier today and it seems like converting is pretty straightforward. Anything I'm not considering?

Conversion in Studio is straightforward and may be a better solution for you.
