Best Website Builder Software for Hosting SL Courses

Apr 04, 2019

Hi Heroes

Due to file compatibility issues, I've just had to shelve my plans of hosting my courses on my Weebly built website. I'm therefore wondering if anyone has hosted their courses from any easy build website platform such as Wix etc?

Hi Robert,

In hosting your courses you may want to try out a traditional hosting platform rather than use the online website builder like Weebly, Squarespace, Wix and Godaddy Website Builder. When I mean a traditional hosting platforms I refer to access to cPanel(https://cpanel.net) or Plesk (https://www.plesk.com/) where you have direct control over the site files.

Online website builders are primarily created for those who wish to create a clean and beautiful site quickly and easily however the downside of this is that you are locked in to the tools provided to you to build the site. They also restrict uploading custom html pages where a Storyline course is an example of.

You can try easy CMS (Content Management System) to build your site first such as Wordpress.org site and use a plugin or use Moodle and other examples that are free to create your site, then purchase a traditional hosting plan and upload your site there to make it online.

I hope this helps,

JM
