I would restart my machine, may be some corrupted text (I find it happens most when editing numbered lists). If this oddest fix it you may need to restore a backup of the file.
In addition to Phil's suggestion I'd also confirm you're working on local project files as working off a network or USB drive is known to cause issues with the Storyline files.
