Dear Leslie,

As it is confidential due to company rules, I can't share it. Though I do
note that sometimes when I place a video in, it has a black screen at the
start which fade out where the original video doesn't have. As for the
video with black line issue only in IE, it was make from powerpoint.

Sincerely,
Zay

Hi Zay,

I understand if you cannot share it.

I have seen an issue with black placeholders, which you can read more about here. Typically you will not see an issue with the published content though.

  • What version of Storyline are you using?
  • How are you publishing and viewing the file? Please be sure you are viewing in the intended environment as you learner would and not locally.

You are welcome to share privately with our team here if needed and an NDA can be signed as well.

Hi Zay,

Do you think IE is running in compatibility mode? If so, that could be impacting your video play back. Here's how to turn off compatibility mode for your hosting site:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click the gear icon (or the Tools menu if it’s visible) and choose Compatibility View settings.
  2. Select the URL for your hosting website or LMS, then click Remove.
  3. If you're using an intranet, such as SharePoint, to host your course, uncheck Display intranet sites in Compatibility View.
  4. Click Close.

Let us know if that helps!
