When I add a video to a course. In Microsoft edge it creates an extra black space at the bottom of the modern player in all pages not just the video page. See attached image. All is fine in Chrome.
Has anyone experienced this or knows how to solve it ?
So sorry you ran into that, Paul. That's an issue on our end, and our team is looking into a fix. As you mentioned, this doesn't seem to happen in Chrome, so hopefully you can use that browser until we have a solution in place.
Thanks for letting us know this is affecting your work, and I apologize for the headaches!
Hey Paul. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 23 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
We fixed some modern player issues, including blank space below slides that resulted in unnecessary scroll bars and sometimes dark rectangles at the bottom of content.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
I'm having this issue today with a video inserted from the content library.
I used the same video on another slide all morning - previewed many times, no problems.
Now I'm working on a new slide, I've inserted the same video - it works properly the first few times I preview but then the bottom third of the video cuts off and shows a white space. deleting./reinserting the video has no effect. Any ideas?
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with the video from the content library.
This is not an issue I've seen and interesting that it's behaving inconsistently for you. Since you mention that it's a specific slide:
If you add the video to a brand new slide, do you experience the same issue?
Do you see the same issue when publishing the course as you do with the preview?

I inserted the video from the content library and the issue presented from the first preview. So interestingly enough I now have the same video inserted on 3 different slide - it works properly on the first slide but not on the second and third slides
I published the slides in questions to Review 360 and yes, the problem persisted.
I imported the slides in question to a new story (the behavior above carried through) and I have shared it through the link you provided.
Hi all, sharing a response I got from Articulate Support after I shared my problematic slides with them. I've tried the workaround and it's working for me.
Thanks so much for letting us know about this issue. I've logged it as a possible software bug. The issue you are experiencing is related to a bug where a zoom region on a video makes it revert to its original dimension. Therefore the video shows a gap when previewed or published.
As a workaround, try to keep the original dimension of the video when resizing. Then adjust the size of your box with the same dimension of your video.
