Is there a way besides covering videos with a hotspot (not triggered) to block a user from clicking on the video and causing it to pause? I thought there was now a format option for this, but cannot locate it.
You don't need a hotspot or any transparent shape on top of the video. The simplest solution for this is to create an empty layer and open this layer on the timeline starts then restrict it from clicking on the base layer as shown below.
